Rose Mary Stiffin, PhD

I was born and raised in Indianola, Mississippi, the heart of the Mississippi Delta. Although the novel is NOT biographical in any way, I did take from the living surroundings of my childhood and family. The characters seem real because they may have been real.
I hold a BA in Chemistry, an MS in Organic Chemistry, and a PhD in Biochemistry. I am a Professor of Chemistry. My research interests include enzymology and synthesis of potential anti-cancer drugs, as well as studying ethnobotany to discover new drugs against diseases.
