Gloria Iatridis and Olivia Kate Iatridis

Gloria is Inuvialuk, born and raised in Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada. With over 30 years of experience working in various capacitiesin the public service for the Northwest Territories, Alberta, and the federal government, Gloria considers her most fulfilling role as a mother to Olivia and Michael. She is deeply committed to supporting her children’s passions, especially Olivia’s acting career, and believes in empowering children to pursue their dreams with parental guidance.

Olivia, also Inuvialuk, grew up in Yellowknife and moved to Alberta, where she began her acting career. Most recently, Olivia starred as Umi in Netflix’s Avatar, The Last Airbender. Olivia also played the role of Kat Schmitt in NBC’s The Irrational. She also co-starred in a lead role in the feature film Abducted, in which she played Lakota Sampson. Olivia starred in the ABC Television Series Alaska Daily as Liza Peters. She also played the role of Sadie in the Hallmark film Sweeter Than Chocolate. She is a lead presenter for a massive open online course about the Arctic offered by the Universities of the Arctic.

In addition to acting, Olivia is an accomplished artist and has won three prestigious Joey Awards for her performances, including Best Supporting Actress and Outstanding Indigenous Performer. Gloria continues to be one of Olivia’s most prominent supporters, and together, they embody the power of family, culture, and perseverance in the arts.
