Author Bio
Bruce L. Evans is the CEO of Meshack Art Studio and its Creative Content Developer. He is also the author and creator of Parable Entertainment Bible Universe (PEBU), the flagship title of Meshack Art Studio.
Born on May 1, 1964, in Baltimore, Maryland, Bruce is the youngest son of Willie J. and Ethel L. Evans. In 1977, Bruce’s mother took him and his siblings to a Rexall store, giving him $27 to spend. He used every dollar to purchase comic books and soon began drawing the covers of each one. That experience marked the beginning of his lifelong pursuit of an artistic career.
At the age of 13, after seeing encouraging results from his drawing exercises, Bruce realized that art was what he wanted to dedicate his life to. He credits much of his inspiration to his father and his oldest brother, Chico A. Evans, both exceptionally talented artists who never received formal artistic training. Bruce has often remarked that he viewed his own abilities as following behind theirs, a reflection of both his respect for their talent and his humility. He also acknowledges that his pursuit of excellence has always been driven by perfectionism and a relentless commitment to refining his artistic skills—a journey that continues to shape his work today.
In 1984, Bruce became acquainted with Francis, the owner of a comic book store he visited regularly to purchase his favorite titles. After seeing some of Bruce’s artwork, she encouraged him to attend the San Diego Comic-Con, where aspiring artists could participate in professional portfolio reviews.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Bruce gained valuable insight into what it takes to become a professional comic book artist. He consistently presented his portfolio at the Marvel Comics booth, where editors offered constructive feedback and guidance on how he could improve his work to meet professional industry standards. Their encouragement became an important influence on his artistic development.
In 1994, Bruce expanded his creative focus to include writing, aspiring to become not only an artist but also a storyteller. During this period, he began developing a story titled Winter 2112: Last Days of America, an early version of what would eventually become Parable Entertainment Bible Universe (PEBU).
By 2000, the world of PEBU had taken shape in Bruce’s imagination. Its characters and central storyline had matured, although the project had yet to receive its defining title.
Around 2009, while reflecting on the work, the name Parable Entertainment Bible Universe came to him. The title became another foundational piece that established the identity and vision of the comic novel.
From 2009 through 2020, Bruce remained dedicated to completing the project and preparing it for publication. Throughout that journey, he grew significantly as both an artist and a writer. Even so, Bruce believes that growth is a lifelong process and continues to strive for greater excellence in his craft.
Today, Parable Entertainment Bible Universe stands as a deeply personal and life-changing work for Bruce. More than a creative achievement, it is an offering of inspiration and hope that he is honored to share with readers who are willing to receive its message.
