Gun Oil and Teddy Bears

Gun Oil and Teddy Bears: Surviving Shame, Fear and Suicide to a Life of Freedom

STORY SYNOPSIS

This is a story of redemption. Because of an incident that happened to a very young child, she began to look for ways to hide he shame and secret. Knowing in her heart she would be cast aside if people found out, that small child attempts suicide with her father’s shotgun to end her pain. Failing the attempt, the story goes forward with plans of murder, torture and plans of prison until she gets blindsided by God.

Reviews:

We all carry hurt and shame, for we are human beings. What we do with that hurt and shame helps determine who we become. The author of this Christian-based book, as a child, experienced a horror so profound that many don’t want to face in today’s world. However, by meeting it in this no-punches-pulled narrative, we gain understanding to how someone could attempt suicide and even contemplate murder. At its core, the powerful story leads us from darkness into Light. I have only two criticisms. The book needs more showing and less telling. More dialogue would have also strengthened the revelations. Highly Recommended.
