Paul and Michael Nelson
I’m Paul Nelson, a single autism dad! I retired from teaching middle school music a few years ago and decided to pursue my other passion-writing. My amazing non-verbal, autistic son, Michael, is the inspiration for my writing, which can best be described as Autism Fantasy Fiction. Michael and I are a team.
Our Autism Science Fiction/Fantasy Trilogy, FISHER’S AUTISM TRILOGY, is a great adventure for ages 10 and up. It’s fun to read and has a strong message of kindness and acceptance. It has been produced as an audio drama by Pace University’s Education and Drama Departments and is used as a text by some of the Special Education instructors at Pace.
Our other series for kids is the CATS OF THE PYRAMIDS series. We just completed book 2 in that series. It’s entitled, “The Third Stone.”
We’ve also started to write autism fiction for slightly older readers. SAVING WORMS AFTER THE RAIN is a Mystery Series with an autistic hero. There are currently two books in that series.
Our SUSQUEHANNA SERIES is a time travel adventure full of magic and suspense. Our latest books are FROM THE MOON, I COME IN PEACE and PANDEMIC RAMBLINGS OF AN AUTISM DAD. All of our books include a lot about us, and our life adventures with autism. We believe that including those with disabilities in our fiction is the best way to encourage tolerance and acceptance.
Aspen Winkleman, a young, psychic, autistic investigator is called upon to assist police with a missing teen girl case in the tiny PA mountain town of Renfro. Will he find her? Will she be alive? A fascinating cast of characters.
Did an ancient alien race of Cat People build the Pyramids? Did they also introduce the autism gene into human DNA? In Cats of the Pyramids, Paul Nelson combines science, science fiction, fantasy and spirituality.
