Lisa Trout

Lisa created the Little Chewz family for children to learn more about food in a hands-on, themed, integrated way. A mom of two, teacher, certified Health Coach, and cook, she infuses this experience into all programs and books in a fun and easy way. Lisa develops kids cooking activities that are easy for parents and teachers to use in the kitchen, classroom, or the community. She dedicated her master’s degree in Education to continue her work on building intergenerational connections through storytelling and recipe restoration. She advocates bringing food into the classroom for learning essential life skills, language, history, and environmental sustainability.

Little Chewz Celebrates Winter

What is the Cutlery Family up to now? It’s winter, cold and snow blankets the ground. Yet, the Cutlery family is still busy indoors. This winter, Little Chewz has friends over for an afternoon of crafts, outdoor fun and recipes. When a French winter festival is slated for a celebration in town, the whole family decides it’s time for an outing. With so much to do during the winter, the Cutlery family continues to enjoy food, friends and exploring French culture through the festival. This rhyming picture book is the second in the Cutlery Family series. Recipes and crafts are included. Join the Cutlery family in this story of winter activities and sharing cultures
