Charles Gates Jr.

Former cultist turned Christian, Charles began his journey in darkness, but the light met him where he was and lit his way to freedom. All along the way, in the backdrop of his story- poetry and literature has flowed freely from his fingertips, bearing witness of his transition from darkness to light. Sharing his story with the masses, he finds joy leading others toward the light of hope that he has found. He published his first book of poetry, ‘Darkness Before the Dawn’ in 2012, and his first novel, ‘From Darkness to Light: A Sinner’s Memoir’ in 2018. Currently, he lives in Lykens, Pennsylvania, writing a series of books that continue his journey; a second poetry book, another novel and a Christian devotional.
