Ruth Nopson

I was born in a small mining camp in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I started the first grade as a five-year-old. There were not enough children for kindergarten and first grade. I was excited because now I could learn to read and write. My father was a miner, so we moved to many camps. To keep busy I learned that the library could be your best friend. I spent hours reading and looking at books. I won a writing contest in my seventh grade. I finished high school in Washington State. The only class I knew I could get an A was English Literature. My husband and I raised three children. I made sure they liked to read and write their own story. I have a great passion for writing children’s books. We have children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who give me inspiration.
