Kerri Adamic

Kerri Adamic has had a lot of adventures in life. At fifty-one hours old, she stopped breathing, which caused brain damage affecting her fine motor skills including the ability to speak. Kerri feels she was very blessed with a set of great parents who loved her and taught her and most of all, they gave her a wonderful life!
Although her body does not work well, she reminds people, her mind and spirit are just fine! She gets around in her power chair and uses a communication device and says, “I wouldn’t change my life for anything, and I’m happy the way I am.”
The enthusiasm of life has enabled her to accomplish so many impossible things. “They haven’t been very easy, but with faith in God and in myself, I have learned how to do things in so many ways!”
Kerri received her A.A. from Cypress College, and presently is working on her B.A. in Social Work through BYU Idaho Online Courses, none of which would have been possible without thos who first recognized her desire to lean and patiently worked with her.
In addition, she has worked for fifteen years with disabled children. Working with disabled children and with her own experiences from her childhood, have fueled her desire help others like herself.
“I was in their shoes when she was little. I had no way to communicate; therefore, some people assumed I couldn’t understand…. I had a desire to learn, so I did learn how to write my alphabet by observing in the classroom and on the children’s educational TV shows at home.
I would like to inspire parents, speech therapists and special educational teachers on how to reach out these disable children. Teach them to read and spell so that they can communicate and express their feelings and thoughts too.”
Kerri is a go-getter who always tries to make the best of situations. She loves life that brings her joy and happiness. She loves helping people who enjoy life and want to better themselves. Kerri’s hope and dream of writing a book was to her readers feel that nothing is impossible!
