Antoinette Leopoldina Oliveira

The author is a retired Hamden Planning Administrator who raised her two children, educating them in St. Rita’s Catholic School, after which her son chose to go to Hamden High School because he wanted to play football for them.   Upon retirement she took classes at Southern New England State University, majoring in English and Business Administration. She earned 82 credits toward her B.A. Degree. Her first published work was an essay she entitled, “God Even Uses Chiropractors” was published in the National Health Magazine, under the title, “The Call that Cured me” on February of 1999. She had many other essays published in both the Hamden Chronicle and the New Haven Register. The one she is most proud of is entitled, “My Cape Verdean Heritage Treasured”.
